Woman killed by her alleged stalker
Shelini Tuker, 38, was fatally shot in a Sacramento parking lot by Rohit Roit, 22, who had allegedly stalked her for months. Police state Tuker and Roit were once friends, and Roit had allegedly threatened her, tracked her with an AirTag, and entered her home. Tuker had a restraining order against Roit, which he violated in July. Roit, who was in the U.S. illegally after arriving from India in 2023, died by suicide after the shooting. Tuker's mother believes the system failed to protect her daughter.
The case raises questions about the effectiveness of restraining orders and law enforcement's ability to act on violations, as well as concerns regarding the immigration status of individuals involved in violent crimes.
