Apple Set for Major Product Launch with Foldable iPhone
Apple is set to launch its first foldable iPhone tomorrow, a device that represents the biggest design change to the iPhone in nearly twenty years and has been in development for a decade. The product, originally conceived as a foldable iPad mini, was pivoted to a phone after Tim Cook's visit to Asia in 2020. The device will feature a unique 4:3 aspect ratio, wider and shorter than traditional foldables, making it ideal for video consumption.
This launch is a major event for Apple and the broader smartphone industry, as the company aims to capture a significant share of the foldable market, particularly in China, with a device expected to sell out its initial production run of 7-10 million units.
The "Surprise and Shine" event will also likely feature new Apple Watches and AirPods, alongside updates to the traditional iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models.
