"Pro" phones are stupid - PIxel 11 Announcement
Google announced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold phones at their Made By Google 2026 event. The phones feature new Tensor processors, upgraded cameras, and AI features. However, the base models of the Pro phones see a RAM downgrade and price increase, with optional upgrades costing extra. Google also unveiled the Pixel Tag, an AirTag competitor, and an upgraded Pixel Watch 5 with a faster processor.
Consumers face increased costs for comparable or reduced hardware specifications on Google's latest Pixel phones, especially if they desire more RAM or storage. The new AI features and hardware upgrades, like the Pixel Tag, offer new functionality but come at a premium.
